Some days when I come into work, I find an electronic sticky note on my desktop when I login for the day. This sticky note usually says something like:
BLAKE - DO NOT ERASE # modified: src/main/scala/com/tumblr/util/Callback.scala # modified: src/main/scala/com/tumblr/ipmi/PowerManagement.scala The above code needs to be reviewed before it's committed. It is riddled with bugs. After you fix, you need to update X then deploy Y.
When I come in and read these kinds of notes, I think to myself, "Thanks future Blake, you think of everything."
Then, after I’m done patting myself on the back for being so clever, I completely fuck something up. That’s when I think to myself, "Damn you future Blake! You never should have written this in the first place!"
